What’s happening

We’re thrilled to be hosting the Third Annual New Zealand ADHD Conference – Auckland on Saturday 22nd August 2026.

This neuroaffirming event brings together a diverse lineup of nationally and internationally recognised experts, each sharing unique perspectives on ADHD through a combination of evidence-based knowledge, lived experience, and practical, real-world strategies. Across the day, attendees will deepen their understanding of ADHD across the lifespan while exploring ways to better support regulation, learning, wellbeing, and everyday functioning.

Designed to be practical, compassionate, and strengths-focused, presentations go beyond theory — offering tools and strategies you can immediately apply at home, in educational settings, or within professional practice. Alongside expert insights, the conference highlights inspiring stories and approaches that empower individuals with ADHD to thrive.

Suitable for parents, carers, educators, professionals, students, and ADHD adults (ages 14+), this event creates a welcoming space for learning, connection, and community. Those working in or studying education will find particular value, with a wide range of neurodiversity-focused topics aimed at supporting both individuals and students in meaningful ways.
In addition to the speaker sessions, attendees can connect with a range of exhibitors during breaks, discovering helpful services, resources, and supports.

Following the fantastic success of our previous conferences, we’re excited to deliver an even bigger and more impactful event in 2026. Tickets are expected to sell out, so we encourage early booking.
All tickets include a certificate of attendance. We also recommend purchasing a workbook ticket, which includes the conference workbook and guide at a reduced pre-event rate. Only a limited number will be available on the day at the higher price of $25.

Ashley Cairns is the CEO of A Change for Better (ACFB) and Director of The ACFB Fund, a dual-structured organisation combining clinical services with a charitable model to improve access to mental health and neurodevelopmental diagnostics across New Zealand.

With formal training in psychology and counselling, Ashley has built ACFB into a growing health-tech company focused on addressing critical gaps in ADHD, autism, and mental health assessment pathways. Ashley’s work sits at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and systems reform. She is actively involved in shaping new models of care, including GP-integrated diagnostic pathways and multidisciplinary service delivery. Through ACFB, she is working toward a future where timely, affordable, and high-quality diagnostic services are accessible at scale.

She has presented at national conferences, including ADHD-focused events across New Zealand, and delivered a TEDx Women talk on the Lotus AI and ACFB build as well as her own diagnostic journey. Lauren is a neurodevelopmental consultant and the founder of Somenté, a neuroscience-led practice supporting neurodivergent children and their families. With a background spanning rehabilitation, mental health, and paediatrics, she brings an integrated perspective that connects brain, body, behaviour, and environment.

She is recognised for her ability to shift the way people think about neurodivergence. Rather than focusing on behaviour as the problem, Lauren’s work centres on understanding the underlying neurological experience—how the brain interprets sensory input, demand, safety, and connection—and how this shapes regulation, learning, and daily life.

Through her work, she challenges traditional behaviour-driven models and offers a more effective, neuroscience-informed approach that is both practical and deeply human. Her ability to translate complex science into clear, actionable insights has made her a trusted voice for parents and professionals seeking clarity in an often overwhelming space.

Lauren’s work extends beyond individual families. She is building a broader movement to reshape how neurodivergent children are understood and supported—equipping adults with the knowledge, language, and confidence to create environments where children can genuinely thrive.

Her academic work reflects her deep commitment to understanding the psychological and structural dynamics that shape people’s experience at work.

Diagnosed with ADHD later in life, Jaime brings a lived experience lens to her professional practice and advocacy. Gaining insight into her neurodivergence has been a transformative step – allowing her to navigate life, career, leadership, and wellbeing with greater self-awareness and intention.
