Land Artist, Men’s Mental Health Coach, Founder of Rake Healing

Kenrick Smith is a mental health coach, and the creative force behind Rake Healing – Land Art.
Diagnosed with ADHD at age 37, his journey has been one of rediscovery—learning that being “too much” and “not enough” weren’t flaws, but misunderstood parts of his identity.

Through breathwork, mindfulness, and creating massive sand art murals on beaches across Aotearoa, Kenrick has found calm in the chaos and now helps others do the same. He runs retreats, facilitates workshops, and supports people on their mental health journeys by blending practical tools with storytelling and embodied experience.

Kenrick’s work is grounded in nature, fueled by connection, and shaped by his personal journey navigating ADHD. He lives at Pāpāmoa Beach with his family and is passionate about helping others slow down, connect inward, and find their place in the world.

Talk:
How to use Meditation and mindfulness to benefit ADHD

Description:
For most of his life, Kenrick Smith felt like he was both too much and not enough. Too loud. Too restless. Too emotional. Not focused enough. Not calm enough. Not doing life the “right” way. Receiving an ADHD diagnosis at 37 reframed his entire story—but the real change came in what followed.

In this personal and practical session, Kenrick shares the highs and lows of his ADHD journey, how it sparked his exploration into meditation and mindfulness, and how he discovered that even fast brains can find stillness.
