Talk Title: Principles and prescribing for ADHD in primary care.

Stairway to ..hey Mum, where’s my water bottle?

Dr Tim Leahy lives with his wife and teenage sons, a lot of ADHD and a hyperthyroid cat. The cat is the calm one. Tim is a GP with an interest in ADHD. He’s on the RACGP WA ADHD working group and the ADHD WA Professional Advisory Body. He is also Associate Professor in Personal and Professional Development, working with medical students at UNDA, including medical students and medical colleagues with ADHD.

Tim cannot resist the urge to phone talk back radio and hopes one day to do stand up, even if that sounds a bit ADHD.

Just when we thought we knew what was happening next, the plan needs to change, again. (Ahh, deeeeep breaths).

This talk, from a GP who lives in a family with ADHD and with patients with ADHD, will explore the stories, learnings and possible options for ADHD presentations in primary care.

Hopefully by the end of the talk we’re feeling clearer, more confident and more knowledgeable about our options, including (but not restricted to) medication options in ADHD. Clearer, at least until the plan needs to be changed again.
